Linda Canino
Linda, 11, has grown both musically and personally at the Don Carlo Basci Music Academy, where she has been studying piano for the past four years.
Gifted with a natural aptitude for the piano and a refined musical sensitivity, she confidently performs solo repertoire at some of the most prestigious venues on Lake Como, including Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello, and Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio.
She recently won Second Prize at the San Donà di Piave International Piano Competition.
She is enrolled in the professional piano course taught by Professor Michele Santaniello.
In addition to the piano, she studies the French horn as her second instrument. She has performed the solo horn parts from Handel’s Water Music in several concerts, receiving warm appreciation from audiences.
Giulio Canino
Giulio Canino is a thirteen-year-old student at the Don Carlo Basci Music Academy in Menaggio, where he is enrolled in the professional piano course taught by Professor Michele Santaniello.
A passionate and sensitive musician, his solo repertoire ranges from Bach to Debussy. He performs throughout the Academy’s concert season, delivering performances of remarkable musical depth, and his committed and collaborative attitude serves as an example to all the students. He was awarded an outstanding Third Prize at the San Donà di Piave International Piano Competition.
He is also highly active in chamber music, accompanying both string and wind players with great versatility.
Alongside the piano, he studies the cello as his second instrument, achieving excellent results both in orchestral performances and in the solo repertoire.
He serves as principal cellist for the Academy’s 2025 concert season.
Greta Barberi
A fourteen-year-old pianist born in Monza, she began studying the piano at the age of nine. A student of Sonia Iaconis, she has performed on many occasions in just a few years of study, presenting a repertoire ranging from the Baroque period to twentieth-century music. Talented and passionate, she has taken part in numerous national and international piano competitions, winning First Prize at the International Young Artist Competition in Tokyo, the Villa Oliva National Music Competition, the Piove di Sacco National Competition, and the Crescere National Competition in Milan. She has also received awards at many other competitions, including the San Donà del Piave International Competition, the Minerbio International Competition, the Orbetello International Competition, the Albenga International Piano Competition, the Regina Esperia Competition, and the Stresa International Competition. She has participated in masterclasses with Luca Schieppati, Giampaolo Nuti, and Oleg Marshev.
Gabriel Carletto
A sixteen-year-old from Como, he began studying the piano at the age of ten. He currently attends the "Teresa Ciceri" Music High School in Como, where he studies under Sonia Iaconis. Passionate about chamber music, he also studies Composition, Double Bass, and Organ. Despite his young age, he has already received awards in numerous national and international competitions, including the Città di Vimodrone Competition, the International Piano Competition “Città di Albenga”, the 18th International Competition for Musical Performance “Città di Treviso”, the International Premio Toscana Città di Cascina, Concertiamo Cantù, and the Nuovi Orizzonti Sonori National Competition in Varese. Most recently, he won First Prize at the National Competition “Città di Piove di Sacco”. He has furthered his musical education by participating in masterclasses with Giampaolo Nuti, Luca Schieppati, and Oleg Marshev.
