Asier Merino Blanco

Violinist from Barcelona, Asier Merino graduated with Distinction from the Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music in London in 2019, where he studied with Professor Radu Blidar. Since then, he has collaborated as guest violinist with the orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Philharmonic of Prague (PKF), while continuing his education through masterclasses with professors Mihaela Martin and Marco Rizzi. As a scholarship recipient of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland and Jeunesses Musicales Internationales in 2019, Asier has always shown a passionate interest in chamber music. This has led him to perform on stages all over Europe (Paris, Madrid, London, Milan, Barcelona, etc.). He has won numerous international awards in the field of chamber music and was selected, along with his former piano trio (Trio Jakob, 2014-2020), to be part of the international collective of young talents called Le Dimore del Quartetto.
His love for orchestral music has allowed him to play alongside musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and collaborate with soloists and conductors such as Maxim Vengerov, Gianandrea Noseda, and Bernard Haitink, among many others.
Asier Merino plays a violin by Francesco Maurizi (Appignano, c. 1850) and a bow by M.A. Husson (Paris, 1905).
